Michael Kasper was the best! My car was totaled on July 2nd and my insurance company gave me 24 hours notice that they were taking away the rental car (last minute absolute jerks since I was injured in the accident hit head on and rear ended by 3 additional cars)! Needless to say I was in extreme pain, not wanting to shop for a replacement car and had to take time off work and spent 14 hours trying to find my same used Lexus IS250. Michael was the last salesman I went to see after looking all day. He was soooo very understanding, empathetic and got me a really great deal! I used to swear by Lexus of Portland, but this is now my second used IS250 I have purchased from Ron Tonkin in 11 months. Go see Michael as he was absolutely the best salesman I have dealt with in the 14 cars I have purchased in my lifetime. Being a woman, I have been taken advantage of by other dealerships, but I swear by Ron Tonkin and especially Michael. He made my deal painless and quick. He understood how I really needed to be in bed resting and not car shopping. I cannot express how very grateful I am to Michael Kasper! Thanks Michael I'm forever grateful to you! Mary B. Only went in for a recall but friendly, accommodating staff. Not ideally located for me for general service, but I imagine current customers are pleased.
When our 2008 Mazda 3 suddenly developed a very loud vibration while we were traveling from Seattle to Portland for the weekend last week, after reading the online reviews, called Ron Tonkin Mazda and spoke with Steve Ballweber in the service department. Even though it was Friday afternoon Steve told us to bring the vehicle in and they would take a look at it that day. When we got there, it was clear Steve was an exceptionally knowledgeable and diligent service advisor (turns out he had years of prior experience as a technician - a rarity, and a godsend). He immediately took the vehicle into the shop and after about an hour told us that all the suspect systems had checked out properly but that he wanted to have us take a look at something a little bit out of the ordinary. He took us back to the shop where he showed us a bit of plastic trim under the front bumper that had become cracked. He suggested that this could start to vibrate when driving and suggested they remove the broken piece. Brilliant! The trip back to Seattle was quiet and uneventful. Problem solved! I can safely say that in my 50+ years of dealing with vehicle service companies, both dealer and independent, this level of dedication - and thinking out of the box - is a rarity indeed. Many thanks and kudos to Steve Ballweber of Ron Tonkin Mazda!!
Jeff Thompson is the reason to go to this place. My friend went car shopping and I tagged along for the ride. This guy knows his stuff more than anyone I've ever dealt with in sales. Not at all a stereotypical car salesman. I will buy my next car from him, hands down.
Impressed with the customer service
Wow! I never knew that a visit for service could be a pleasant experience, but then again, I never met Izzy (our service advisor) before today. First of all, naturally, she scheduled the service time that was most convenient for us (which was on a Wednesday). That happened to be her day off. So to our surprise, she planned on meeting us there on her day off anyway. You maybe thinking, well that is probably because she earns commission and she didn't want to miss out on that. But that is not the case. She told us that she really looked forward to working with us and didn't want to pass us on along to another advisor. During the appointment, she was even more amazing, friendly, and sweet! She checked on us regularly and even offered to shuttle us home for free. (We bought four new tires and got an alignment. This was a planned two-three hour visit and the round trip to the dealer is over an hour so we stayed). We have never felt as valued as Izzy made us feel. We kept on telling her that she didn't need to stay for our whole appointment; she should go enjoy the rest of her day. But she stayed until we were done. She checked on everything for us to be sure everything was to our satisfaction before we left. Also, you might be thinking, buying tires at a car dealership, that's dumb. Why not go to a dedicated tire dealer for a better deal? Guess what, the dealer had the best offer hands down for the particular tire we needed. We saved over 25% from the quote we received from a well known tire dealer. Further, we asked for some special handling (such as the return of three of our tires and placing them into special bags and some other minor adjustments not related to the new tires), and they did everything we asked for and more. Finally about the waiting areas. First and foremost, everything was clean and well maintained. The areas feel as fresh and welcoming as a showroom full of bright shiny new cars. There are at least five distinct areas, several TV's, a separate room for kids, and the seats and couches are all high quality. Also, the seating allows for people to have some breathing room - not all cooped up together. They provide free Starbucks coffee/hot chocolate/lattes and free snacks. There is also a vending area with fresh refrigerated meals and other yummy snacks. The ladies room was spotless and had a great fresh clean scent. I wish my other car dealership, GM in Beaverton, would visit this place to see what a nice experience Ron Tonkin Mazda provides its obviously valued clients. I have never been to any other Ron Tonkin establishments, but I can tell you that the Mazda dealership is an excellently managed location.
I purchased a Mazda 3 last weekend. I love my car. I am especially surprised by the excellent customer service I received from Scott Barney. He sold me a car and continued to give me the best service after I drove off the lot. After I finished purchasing my car at 9 pm on a Saturday night, I was famished. I drove about 2 miles and stopped to eat. When I got of my car to go into the restaurant, I noticed my front tire was dead flat. I called Scott panicked. How does this happen? He drove over, put on my spare tire, gave me a lender car and got my tire fixed. He could have easily had me call a tow truck and let me deal with it all. I am grateful for his kindness and service. I would recommend anyone looking for a car to talk with Scott. He will help you find the car you want, in your budget, and make sure you are taken care of.
The first word I think is; WOW. I walked into the dealership and I was amazed by the customer service they provided. They truly care about your big purchases and will guide you to every single little step. Daniel Lysenko is the man, the perfect salesman that'll help you pick your perfect car based on what kind of lifestyle you live in. He will make sure you're taken care of and will break everything down for you. Amazing. Roy the Financial Specialist; hands down one of the best people to sit down with and feel comfortable instantly. He explains the process and perfectly explains each paper you're signing. His kindness and calmness will ease your mind when you're about the purchase something big! It's my 2nd time going over there and it was hands down the best experience yet. Their whole crew in this building are like a big family, they all strongly communicate and vibe is real. They truly want the best for you. These guys are it. Trust them 100%.
